OFK Tryavna lost 3-2 to Yantra Polski Trambesh despite late come back

Sunday, 21 March 2021, 2.30 pm local time (12.30 pm UTC), Angel Kanchev Stadium, Tryavna, Bulgaria, the 22nd round of the Bulgarian Third League - North-West Group (Severozapadna Treta Liga).

Last classified and with minimal chances to avoid relegation, OFK Tryavna had yet another difficult match, against Yantra Polski Trambesh, one of the positive surprises of this season.

Nevertheless, the visitors underestimated the will of Tryavna players to make a good impression, and OFK Tryavna had a big goal opportunity right in the beginning of the match, but Yantra's goalkeeper and captain, Radoslav Rashkov, saved a difficult shot by Martin Shirtev. Then, the game was rather balanced throughout most of the first half. The final ten minutes of the first half proved decisive for the entire game. Nikolai Ivanov succeeded to get through Tryavna's defense, passed to Rostislav Danchev, who stopped the ball on his chest and scored spectacularly: 0-1 (36'). Rostislav Denchev assisted Lubomir Ganchev, whose shot from the edge of the box went straight in: 0-2 (42'). Finally, another pass by Denchev, followed by an individual action of Lubomir Genchev and a shot on goal led to 0-3 (44'), right before the break.

It looked like the game already had a winner, and the only issue was the final score. However, OFK Tryavna came back unexpectedly and almost succeeded to equalize in the end. They were much helped by Yantra's Ivan Ivanov, who committed a foul in the position of the last defender and was therefore sent off, leaving his team down to ten men (62'). The free kick from just outside the box as beautifully executed by Todor Chirpanov: 1-3 (63'). With one man up and nothing to lose, Tryavna pressed more and more, and eventually Dimitar Mitev benefited from a mistake in Yantra's defense and scored: 2-3 (83').

The final minutes brought some tension in the field. Tryavna's Anatoly Kikov received a second yellow card and was sent off (87'), which meant that the two teams were again equal in numbers for the last minutes. In stoppage time, OFK Tryavna had a great chance to equalize, but goalkeeper Rashkov saved and kept the three points for Yantra Polski Trambesh.
