Saturday, 13 March 2021, 2.30 pm local time (12.30 pm UTC), Gradski Stadium, Slavyanovo, Bulgaria, the 21st round of the Bulgarian Third League - Group A (Severozapadna Treta Liga).
After the record 8-1 defeat at Veliko Tarnovo two weeks ago, another negative record for Tryavna: a 9-1 defeat away at Vihar Slavyanovo. Such a score really deserves no comments, so only the goalscorers and some of the actions deserve to be mentioned.
OFK Tryavna in summer 2020
Vihar took the lead by Ivan Ivanov, who scored assisted by Ivaylo Ivanov: 1-0 (19'). A few minutes later, Stanislav Ivanov doubled the advantage after an individual action: 2-0 (26'). Stanislav Ivanov then assisted Ivaylo Ivanov, who made it 3-0 (36'). Right before the break, Tryavna's goalkeeper and captain, Miroslav Kirov, passed mistakenly to Ivaylo Ivanov, who simply netted the ball: 4-0 (44').
Although it is hard to imagine that anything worse could have happened for the visitors, the situation became catastrophic at the beginning of the second half, when Oktay Azisov made a foul on Ivaylo Ivanov who was on the point to escape alone with the goalkeeper, and was sent off (48'). OFK Tryavna remained in ten men, and Ioan Petkov executed the free kick perfectly to make it 5-0 (49').
It was simply a question of score in the remaining minutes. A cross was volleyed in by Ivaylo Ivanov: 6-0 (58'). Anatoli Petrov succeeded in scoring with a long-range shot: 7-0 (63'). Tryavna's only goal came when Martin Shirtev punished a mistake of the Vihar's defense: 7-1 (65').
Vihar received a penalty for a foul in the box on Ioan Petkov, and Konstantin Genkov transformed for 8-1 (73'). Ivan Ivanov scored the last goal of the match after a cross by Konstantin Genkov: 9-1 (78').
Vihar Slavyanovo: Teodor Todorov - Stanislav Ivanov, Svetoslav Krastev (Anatoli Petrov 60'), Tony Palikrushev (Svetlin Zlatarev 70'), Lubomir Borisov, Julien Benkov (Desislav Rusev 54'), Tsvetan Petrov, Ivan Ivanov, Milen Todorov (Angel Boev 54'), Ioan Petkov, Ivaylo Ivanov (Konstantin Genkov 60').
OFK Tryavna: Miroslav Kirov (Delyan Arabadzhiev 81') - Georgi Atanasov, Oktay Azisov, Vesko Karakolev, Stanislav Atanasov, Georgi Georgiev, Ivaylo Iliev (Tomislav Kolev 62'), Aleksandar Damyanov, Hussein Veisov (Daniel Totev 32'), Martin Shirtev, Todor Chirpanov.
Referee: Mihael Pavlov.

Red card: Oktay Azisov 48'.
There is not much to say about the performance of OFK Tryavna, which was very poor in the first half of the season, and it turned for catastrophic in the spring season. Such results are simply unacceptable and prove that all things said about how the situation would improve in the spring are just stories.
There is not much to be done right now, the team should accept the coming relegation as a fact and play football as they can. In the next round, they will face Yantra Polski Trambesh at home, a team which was relegated two years ago exactly after a match lost against OFK Tryavna in the last round. In the meantime, they became a better team, they promoted back, and are now among the best in the group. Perhaps there is a lesson to be learned from there...
On the other hand, Vihar Slavyanovo remained one of the strongest teams in the group and are now third in the table.
The other matches were played on Sunday. Full results, table and upcoming fixtures:
