Al Ahed transferred Mohamad Nasser and Zein Farran from Bourj FC in view of the AFC Cup

Two of Bourj FC best players in the recently finished 2020-2021 Lebanese Premier League, 19 year old Mohamad Nasser and 22 year old Zein Al Abidin Farran, were transferred by former title holders, Al Ahed.

Al Ahed are now preparing for the matches in Group A of AFC Cup, on 24 May against Al Wahda from Syria and 27 May against Group A hosts, Al Hidd from Bahrain.

Both players proved to be very useful in the attack, Nasser mainly as a striker, and Farran as a winger.

Therefore, the two key players cannot be used by Bourj FC in their Lebanese FA Cup matches. They were much missed in the first round, when Bourj FC managed only a 0-0 draw against Sporting Club Beirut, the Second Divison winners. However, Bourj FC qualified after winning 5-4 at penalty shoot-outs.

Their next game in the Lebanese FA Cup quarter-finals will be played Tuesday, 4 May 2021, against Al Akhaa Al Ahly Aley. Strangely, they also qualified at the penalty shoot-outs after a 0-0 draw in regular time against Hikma (La Sagesse), the second classified in the Second Division. Bourj FC and Al Akhaa Al Ahly Aley are the only teams which needed penalty shoot-outs to get through to the quarter-finals, all the other teams qualified after 90 minutes. The match will be played at Al Ahed Stadium in the Ouzai area of the southern suburbs of Beirut and will kick off at 4 pm local time.
