Saturday, 23 October 2021, 2:30 pm local time (12:30 pm UTC), Al Awwal Stadium, Nâg Hammadi, Egypt, the fourth round of the Egyptian Second Division, Group A.
Aluminium Nâg Hammadi is one of the strong teams in Group A and one of the contenders for the top spot and promotion to the Premier League. They proved once again their strength in front of Fayoum SC, which only managed to keep a clean sheet in the first half.
The beginning of the second half was a disaster for Fayoum, as they received three goals in 15 minutes. The only one scored by action was the first one, by Wael Ali: 1-0 (48'). The same player doubled the advantage for the hosts a few minutes later, but this time from a penalty: 2-0 (57'). Just a couple of minutes later, another penalty was given by referee Mahmoud Bassiouni, and this time Mohammed Tolba was the one who took it and made it 3-0 (60').
Fayoum had their chances towards the end. They also received two penalties, but missed both of them. Mohamed Abou Al Hajj missed the first one, trying a technical execution, but the ball went above the crossbar. The second one, right before the end, was executed by Mahmoud Kamal "Schmeichel". He hit the ball hard, but it went again over the crossbar. Fayoum also had one man up, as Hamada Al Manaawi (Aluminium) was sent off, but did not take advantage of this situation, not even for the goal of honour. Aluminium defended well in the final minutes and eventually gained deservedly the three points.
Aluminium are now third in the table, while Fayoum dropped on ninth. Both teams will play at home the next week-end. Aluminium will face Al Madina Al Monawara, while Fayoum will play against KIMA Aswan.
