OŠK Rudňany - 1. FK Svidník 2-1 (1-0)
Bdžoch 21', Lipták 87' - Shliakhov 56'.
Saturday, 23 October 2021, 2 pm local time (12 noon UTC), OŠK Rudňany Stadium, Rudňany, Slovakia, 14th round of the Slovak Third League - East Group (3. Liga - Východ).
After two weeks of break for 1. FK Svidník because of COVID-19 outbreak affecting the players, they resumed playing with an away game at OŠK Rudňany. It was the 12th consecutive defeat in 12 matches for 1. FK Svidník, which was somehow expected, but this time the team managed by Lech Czaja were very close to a draw, as the Rudňany winning goal came late in the game.

The home side clearly dominated the first half. While nothing notable happened in the first 20 minutes, the first goal opportunity was transformed into a goal, as Tomáš Bdžoch scored from inside the box, after receiving an excellent assist from the left side: 1-0 (21'). OŠK Rudňany could have doubled their advantage several times before the break, missing important chances, most of them due to the saves made by Svidník goalkeeper, Viliam Rusinko, the best player of the visitors in this match.
During the break, the Svidník manager made some changes, introducing Ján Janek and switching several players in the field, trying to play more offensively. Mateusz Wszola was sent in the attack, as a secondary striker, behind Vladislav Haňak. These changes made an almost immediate impact, as Vladislav Haňak scored, but the goal was disallowed for offside. However, the visitors felt encouraged and they succeeded to score, this time for real, a few minutes later. The home side had a free kick, the ball hit the Svidník wall, and from there the visitors launched a devastating break, which finished with Aleksei Shliakhov scoring from the center of the box, assisted by Mateusz Wszola: 1-1 (56').
The equalizer sent euphoric waves within the Svidník side, and they turned from a completely defensive side in the first half into a much more offensive side in the second half. This was quite a surprise for OŠK Rudňany, which needed some time to come back into control, in a game which initially seemed very easy for them. However, gradually, the Svidník euphoria went away, as Rudňany players intensified their attacks and the pressure grew towards the end of the match.
Eventually, the home side did manage to score the winning goal, as Samuel Lipták converted from close range a pass from the right side: 2-1 (87').
Rudňany: Filinský - Hurtuk, Kočiš, Sedláček, Rychnavský, Sirko (Regec 84'), Slejzák, Kunzo, Lipták, Bdžoch, Melega (Csejtey 46'). Manager: Emil Jacko.
Svidník: Rusinko - T. Čabala, Kasperkowicz, Shliakhov, Makara - Kubis (Janek 46'), Guman, Oravec, Gajdoš - Wszola - Haňak. Manager: Lech Czaja.
Referee: Erik Anguš.
Yellow cards: Hurtuk 85' - Kasperkowicz 55', Rusinko 90'.
The result is not a good one for 1. FK Svidník, which are struggling to get their first point(s) this season. Nevertheless, it is an encouraging sign for them, given that the three remaining matches, to be played this year (in the next three week-ends), are against rather accessible teams, classified in the lower part of the table. The first of them would be on Saturday, when 1. FK Svidník will face another newly-promoted side, OFK-SIM Raslavice, at home.
