Saturday, the 19th of October 2019, 14:00 local time (12:00 UTC), Humenne Stadium, Humenne, Slovakia, the 14th round of the Slovakian 3. Liga - East.
1. FK Svidnik continues the string of good and very good results this autumn, and got a rather unexpected point away at FK Humenne, one of the teams fighting for promotion to 2. Liga. However, this is not unusual anymore, as they already succeeded a similar feat, drawing 2-2 away at Tatran Presov, and won at home 1-0 over MFK Vranov nad Topl'ou and 2-0 over FK Proprad B. Odeva Lipany was the only top team which succeeded to win against 1. FK Svidnik by a slender 1-0.
The game was balanced, with the home side dominating most of the first half, and the visitors trying to come back in the game in the second half. FK Humenne controlled most of the game but was eventually punished by a very effective Svidnik side.
The home side had several opportunities in the first half but the biggest chance belonged to the visitors, who could have scored by Dzoblaev: his shot from inside the area passed the goalkeeper but was saved by a defender just in front of the goal line (26'). FK Humenne took the lead before half time by means of their top goalscorer, Filip Serecin, who headed the ball home after an excellent cross by Komjaty from the left: 1-0 (41').
In the second half, the home side could have doubled their advantage, but goalkeeper Adam Miklus saved a goal on a one on one situation (48'). The biggest opportunity for Humenne was created by their opponents, as Bialoncik sent a careless pass to his goalkeeper, Miklus, who was not where he was supposed to, and the ball went just a little wide (79'). The visitors made several offensive changes which finally paid off, as they equalized in the final minutes by means of a substitute, Michal Tokar, who also headed the ball into the back of the net from the centre of the area, after a cross by Kuhajdik from a free kick on the right side: 1-1 (87').
FK Humenne struggled in the end to get the three points but the score did not change, so they are the fourth team in the upper part of the table to lose precious points in front of 1. FK Svidnik.
FK Humenne: Slavik - Streno, Vasil', Sidor, Komjaty - Kovalcik (Salanci 85') - Ruskovski, Mihok, Kulich - Skvasik (Jakubov 76'), Serecin. Head coach: Peter Kosuda.
1. FK Svidnik: Miklus - Bialoncik, Zapotocky, Cabala, Kisel'a - Veprik (Cekan 74') - Kosc (Kuhajdik 54'), Maslov, Dzoblaev, Krizanovsky - Pil'ar (Tokar 65'). Head coach: Tomas Elias. Assistant coach: Robert Petrus.
Referee: Jaroslav Sucka.
Yellow cards: Streno 79', Kovalcik 81', Sidor 86' - Dzoblaev 35', Bialoncik 36'.
FK Humenne dropped to fourth place in the table and the next week they will play away at Krompachy, where they have a good chance to win, given that the Krompachy side is one of the teams struggling to avoid relegation.
1. FK Svdinik are in a troubleless mid-table position, currently eighth, but they might lose this position tomorrow to OSFK Sarisske Michal'any, in case this team wins at home over Milenium Bardejovska Nova Ves (which is quite possible). However, the next week, 1. FK Svidnik will have the chance to fight directly for the eighth position, as they will play at home against OSFK Sarisske Michal'any in the last round of the first half of the season.
Nevertheless, the next week matches will not be the last for this year. In November, two more rounds (the 16th and the 17th) of the second half of the season will be played, as well as the seventh round, whose matches were scheduled oddly after those of the 16th round.
