Exactly like in the first round of the previous season, Fayoum SC and Aluminium Nag Hammadi met at Alassiouty Sports Resort. Last year, the match ended 1-1, with the visitors scoring the equalizer in the last minutes. This year it was pretty much the reverse, as the home side succeeded not only to equalize, but also to get all the points in the added time of the game. Unfortunately, there was not an audience to enjoy such a turn, as first the Egyptian FA decided that all the games must be played without spectators, and second, Fayoum SC is still playing their home games at Alassiouty Sports Resort, in the middle of the desert, quite far from their usual home ground, Fayoum Stadium.

In the first half, both teams played cautiously. Fayoum had most of the ball possession and tried to build up slowly the attacks, using mostly the wings, where Mohamed Refaat proved dangerous for the opposite defense. The visitors replied mainly on the counterattack, but they had some good opportunities and there were some excellent saves by Fayoum goalkeeper, Ahmed Al-Beheiri. The central defender Mohamed Al-Husseini also had several interventions which kept a clean sheet for Fayoum in the first half.
However, at the beginning of the second half, Aluminium took the lead by means of Agathon Milad: 0-1 (51'). This was a serious blow for Fayoum SC, which had to charge the opposite defense more determinedly from that moment on. The home side took complete control of the game but they could not find a way to the opposite goal until the final minutes. The hero for Fayoum SC was Ahmed Abdul Baqi, who came in as a substitute in the 85'. He succeeded to score the much expected equalizer in the last minute: 1-1 (90'). Even more, he had an essential contribution to the winning goal for Fayoum, scored by Karim Al Shafei in the added time: 2-1 (90'+2').
This is a very important win for Fayoum SC and for their new coach, Mohamed Mohsen Abu Gresha, who achieved a victory in his first ever match as a head coach of a team in the Egyptian Second Division.
