In the beginning, the match looked quite balanced, but the visitors gradually took control and attacked more and more vigorously. The number of opportunities grew, and eventually Petrojet scored after a corner kick, as Eazy Kall headed the ball home: 0-1 (25').
Fayoum tried to come back in the game but they had a hard time in reaching the opposite goal, while the visitors defended well and launched dangerous counterattacks.
The second half started the same way, with Fayoum charging and Petrojet on the break. The visitors managed to double their advantage early in this half, scoring again with a header, that of Ahmed Rabie: 0-2 (50').
Fayoum's coach, Mohamed Mohsen Abo Gresha, made several changes to improve the attack. Indeed, Fayoum fairly dominated the game throughout the second half and had more chances, but the visitors' defense resisted very well.
In the final minutes of the game, another Petrojet counterattack ended up with the third goal, scored by Ibrahim Salah: 0-3.
Fayoum SC are out of the Egypt Cup and they must now concentrate entirely on the matches in the Second Division, as they will play away at Shaban Qena on Tuesday afternoon.
