Sunday, the 3rd of November 2019, 15:30 local time (13:30 UTC), Alassiouty Sports Resort, Egypt, the third round of the Egyptian Second Division - Group A.
After a successful start, a 2-1 win in the first round over Aluminium, Fayoum SC lost the next match, 1-0 away to Telephonat Beni Suef, and this Sunday they lost at "home" (Alassiouty Sports Resort is just their temporary home), 1-0 to newly-promoted National Bank of Egypt, one of the teams considered to be fighting for promotion to the Premier League.
Fayoum SC dominated the entire game, had more ball possession, attacked quite fluently but did not achieve any break through the very well-organized defense of the National Bank of Egypt. The first minutes of the game were very intense, but the visitors'
defense resisted very well and managed to resist throughout the entire
game. The visitors launched several counterattacks, which proved quite dangerous, and Amr Samir even succeeded to score, but the goal was cancelled for offside.
In the second half, in one of the counterattacks led by the visitors, substitute Islam Solari scored the only goal of the game after a brilliant pass by Mohamed Hamed, through the Fayoum line of defense: 0-1 (69'). The home side charged again, with renewed intensity, but the score remained the same until the end. It was a good tactical game played by the National Bank of Egypt, based primarily on a very strong defense. It should be said that Fayoum SC have (again) a problem in the attack, as they are unable to score for a second consecutive game. This time they even had lots of chances, lost too easily.
