Al Ahly Sidon - Bourj FC 0-2 in the fourth round of the Lebanese Second Division

Sunday, the 7th of October 2018, Bourj FC played away at Al Ahly Sidon at Saida (Sidon) International Stadium. Bourj started without Abdullah Kanoute, the foreign striker who did not score in the previous games, and head coach Mohamad Dakka included in the line-up more players from last year squad than before: Abdul Karim Saleh - Ali Hareb, Hisham Shheme, Bilal Nasrallah, Hassan Mallah - Hussein Ibrahim Al Saouk, Mohammed Abdul Karim - Ali Fakih, Papys Babacar, Samih Damaj - Wassem Abdulhady. Players like Amir El Haf and the former Lebanese international Nasrat Al Jamal were not even on the bench.

Bourj FC clearly dominated the game but were unable to score in the first half. In the second half, Wassem Abdulhady missed a penalty in the 52nd minute, as the ball hit the side post. However, in the next minute, after several shots blocked by the home defense, Samih Damaj found the proper shot from just outside the area to gave Bourj a deserved lead: 0-1. In the 64th minute, a ball thrown in the area from the left side reached Wassem Abdulhady in a perfect position and the former Palestinian international did not miss this time from close range: 0-2.

In the next two week-ends, Bourj will play twice against Naser Barelias. First, on Sunday, 14 October, on Bhamdoun Stadium in Aley (neutral ground) in the Lebanese FA Cup. Then, in the next week-end, the two teams will meet in the fifth round of the Lebanese Second Division at Jamal abd Al Naser Stadium, the home ground of Naser Barelias.

For the moment, Naser Barelias are last in the Lebanese Second Division while Bourj climbed to the fourth place.
