After a three-week break caused by the matches played in the Egyptian FA Cup, the Egyptian Second Division resumed with the matches of the 7th round, all played on Thursday, 18 October.
Fayoum had a difficult away game at Aswan against Al Nasr Lel Taa'den, one of the contenders of Group A and clear favourite for a win.
However, the team managed by Barakat Ibrahim succeeded to obtain a 1-1 draw, the fourth this season, in 7 matches. The first half was dominated by the home team which succeeded in scoring by Mohammed Al-Sabah. In the second half, Fayoum came back and equalized by means of Mohamed Refaat.
There were many other more or less surprising results in this round, which saw a change of the leader, as Beni Suef took the top spot as former leaders Aswan were unable to win the local derby against El Tahrir.
In the next round, Fayoum will play at home against Dayrout on Thursday, 25 October. As Fayoum Stadium is still not ready to host matches, the game will be played at Alassiouty Sports Complex, as has been the case in the last year.
