Real Garcilaso lost 1-0 away to Alianza Lima in the most important match of the sixth round in the Peruvian Clausura, played on Sunday afternoon, 30 September.
The defending champions, Alianza Lima, took the lead with an early goal of Riojas in the 11th minute of the match after a corner. The home side was much in the control of the game in the first half due to the over-defensive line-up used by Tabare Silva for Real Garcilaso, including three central full-backs: Caceda - Perez, Canova, Kontogiannis, Dulanto, Santillan - Vidales, Aucca, Archimbaud, Ramua - Orosco.
At half-time, the Uruguayan head coach Tabare Silva made two offensive changes, introducing Landauri and Rengifo in place of Kontogiannis and Orosco, while striker Alessandrini was introduced in the 77th minute, replacing midfielder Aucca.
Nevertheless, Real Garcilaso was unable to break the defense of Alianza Lima despite several major opportunities, and the score remained the same until the end of the match.
It is the third game in the row without a win for Real Garcilaso, which are now in sixth place in the Clausura table. The next match will be played at home, in Cuzco, against Deportivo Municipal, on Wednesday afternoon.
