Bourj FC started well in the Challenge Cup, winning 2-0 over Tadamon Sour

Bourj FC started well the first official competition of the new season, the Challenge Cup. In the first round of Group B, they played against Tadamon Sour (Tyre) on a neutral ground, Kfarjoz Stadium in Nabatieh, on Friday, the 19th of July.

After a good performance, Bourj FC won 2-0, but the difference could have been higher. Both goals were scored in the first half. After a free-kick from the left, Abdulfattah Achour headed the ball into the net from close range: 1-0 (17'). The Senegalese player Baba Sisseh increased their lead in the 36', taking profit from a tremendous error of a defender, who lost unexpectedly the ball in his own area: 2-0.
Bourj FC players missed several good opportunities in the second half and had the game under control, even if Tadamon also had a few goal chances.
In the second game of the group, Tadamon Sour drew 3-3 to Salam Zgharta on Tuesday, the 22nd of July, at Al Ahed Club Stadium in Beirut.
The last game of the group should have been played on Saturday, the 27th of July, between Bourj FC and Salam Zgharta. The match was postponed because Bourj FC are in mourning as the club founder, Rafiq Salem Al-Darsa Abboud, has passed away.
