Sunday, 30 June 2019, 15:30 (local time) / 20:30 (UTC), Estadio Los Chankas, Andahuaylas, 2nd Round of Copa Bicentenario, Group G
It was the second round of Copa Bicentenario and the second time that Real Garcilaso played away to a team in Liga 2 (the Second Division). Last week it was their local archrivals Cienciano, this week - Cultural Santa Rosa.
Head coach Juan Reynoso decided to rest some of the key players, and give the opportunity to play to others. Goalkeeper Diego Campos and right back Jhoel Herrera even made their debut for Real Garcilaso this season.
Nevertheless, the Cusco team was much in the control of the game and scored in the 33rd minute by Danilo Carando, who transformed a penalty after a foul on Joao Ortiz in the area.
Real Garcilaso started very strongly the second half and missed several big scoring opportunities in the first minutes, but eventually in the 57th minute Javier Nunez found the way to the net and scored after a cross from Christian Souza on the right. Not long after, a similar run of Christian Souza, this time on the left, and a precise pass to Danilo Carando in the centre of the area led to the third goal, even if the Argentinian striker missed first but the ball came back to him and so he finally scored: 0-3 in the 61st minute.
In the last half hour, there was not much football on the pitch, as Cultural Santa Rosa were unable to respond while Real Garcilaso seemed happy with the result and simply preserved it to the end.

Cultural Santa Rosa: Mafla - Morales, Fajardo, J.F. Rodriguez, Carrasco - Llanos, E. Chavez (A. Jimenez 76') - C. Ruiz, Del Castillo (L. Rojas 59'), W. Castro (S. Hernandez 63') - Caraza. Head coach: Genebrando Arenas.
Real Garcilaso: Campos - Herrera, Canova, Quina, Joao Ortiz - Goyoneche, Archimbaud - Lecaros (Benincasa 58'), Nunez (Ramua 58'), Souza - Carando (Ismodes 73'). Head coach: Juan Reynoso.
Referee: Edwin Ordonez.
The game was broadcasted live by Fuerza Informativa across different media channels, including YouTube and Facebook.
Given that Academia Cantolao also won 2-0 over Cienciano in the other game of Group G, both Liga 1 teams, Real Garcilaso and Academia Cantolao, are qualified for the next stage of Copa Bicentenario as they both have 6 points with one game in hand, which is precisely the game between them, which will decide the first and second classified in this group. Real Garcilaso has a double advantage, as they will play at home and would only need a draw to finish first. However, the second classified would also qualify to the next stage, of the last 16.
The other two teams, both from Liga 2, Cienciano and Cultural Santa Rosa, have no points so far, and will play between them only to establish the third and fourth classified, which do not advance to the next round. Cienciano has the advantage of playing at home and they would only need a draw to finish third.
