Wednesday, the 21st of August 2019, 17:00 local time (15:00 UTC), Mestský futbalový štadión, Svidník, Slovakia, match rescheduled from the second round of the Slovak 3. Liga - East.
The local derby between the football teams from the neighbouring towns of Svidník and Stropkov was eventually played mid-week, on Wednesday, the 21st of August, after it was initially scheduled also in mid-week, on Wednesday, the 31st of July. As usual, it raised a lot of interest among the fans of the two teams.
Both teams came after surprising and unexpected defeats. On Sunday, 1. FK Svidník lost 2-1 away at Slovan Giraltovce, the last classified before that round; it was the first defeat for the Svidník team this season and the first points for the Giraltovce team. It was even worse for MŠK Tesla Stropkov, as they lost 4-2 at home against newly-promoted FK Poprad B.
As a consequence, the players on both sides struggled a lot to recover their fans' trust in the team capacity, by winning this local derby, which means so much for all the people involved.
The first half was disappointingly goalless. The home side started better but missed a few chances. The visitors got increasingly the control of the game and had the biggest chance at the end of the first half, when goalkeeper Mulík's foul on Agbane in the area resulted in a penalty, but the same Mulík defended Jakubco's shot from the penalty spot (41'). This was the second consecutive penalty defended by goalkeeper Mulík, after the one at Giraltovce on Sunday.
Goals were only scored in the second half. The Nigerian striker Candy Augustine Agbane opened the score sheet for the visitors with a beautifully executed free kick from about 25 meters: 0-1 (50'). He could twice double the advantage in the next minutes, but once the ball hit the side post, and the second time he was denied by goalkeeper Mulík. The home team replied quickly and equalized by means of defender Jakub Bialoncík with a header from short range after a corner executed by Kuhajdík: 1-1 (61'). Eventually the visitors managed to score the winning goal by means of Erik Burcák, who headed in a nice cross sent by Harvilko from the left side: 1-2 (78').

1. FK Svidnik: Mulík - Ducár, Zapotocký, Bialoncik, Kisel'a - Kuhajdík, Cekan - Tokar (Eliaš 79'), Maslov, Košc (Pil'ar 63') - Cabala (L. Hricov 63'). Head coach: Tomás Eliaš (who actually played); assistant coach: Róbert Petruš.
MSK Tesla Stropkov: Prysiazhniuk - Petrišin, Štefancík, Bochin, Harvilko, Borovyk (Feco 77'), Pol'ák (Vaško 46), Varga, Jakubco (Burcák 70'), Pál (Artim 90'), Agbane. Head coach: L'uboš Reiter.
Referee: Erik Anguš.
Yellow cards: Mulík 43', Cekan 49', Kuhajdík 90' - Petrišin 72', Prysiazhniuk 86.
This is the second consecutive defeat for 1. FK Svidník, and again in front of a team that is not among the strongest in the group. This should raise some questions for the management of the Svidník club. The players need to recover quickly, physically and morally, because on Sunday they will play again "a must-win" game at home, against TJ FK Vel'ké Revistia.
